Basketball is one of the best ways to improve your all round fitness because it works both the upper and lower body. During a game you'll use all your main leg muscles such as quadriceps, hamstrings, calves, groin and buttocks while simultaneously toning the muscles of your shoulders, neck arms and back. All while burning those calories....
Basketball will improve:
Muscle strength
Power
Endurance
Cardio-respiratory Endurance
Co-ordination

What have you got to loose?
What do you need to get started?
Absolutely nothing! Just turn up to training in the PEC on a Wednesday at 4.30pm in the Minor Hall. Just wear sports gear, suitable for a bit of running! ;)
What does the game involve?
Basketball is played on a court, with a net at either end, above the reach of the players. The object of the game is to score by throwing the ball through the hoop. Different points are awarded depending on your position on the court from where you threw the ball. When moving with the ball, you must bounce it continuously. In competitive games there will always be at least one referee and two table officials.
Still unsure? Confused? Come to a training and see for yourself.
